Update from Fire Commissioners Regarding the Fire Chief

The GVFPD Commissioners are pleased to update the district on the results of our search for a Fire Chief. The Commissioners made an offer of employment to a highly qualified candidate from the Lansing, Michigan area. The candidate accepted the offer and will assume Chief duties locally in mid-August. The new chief has both current command experience and paramedic qualifications. We think he’ll be a great fit for our district.

The Board also thanks the department staff and volunteers for their dedication and performance during some very rough times. A special thank you is in order for Chief Rob Glankler for stepping-in last September and leading the department during challenging circumstances.

And, of course, in all this the Commissioners remember and honor the dedication and hard work of Chief Jon Delvalle
